I don’t know exactly when this evidence was born, that by using the right measurements, those of mathematical ratios (Phi, Pi etc…) that have always existed as far back as we can go, whatever the civilizations or continents, by associating them with the right colors, lines and perspectives, it would appear as a language, an understanding, a knowledge…
My desire to research and learn more about mathematics, symbolism and the relationship between the two, and the possibilities they open up, took shape.
New York, a kind of paradox, offered me the setting for both a quiet retreat in my life, as well as a buzz of information (in English I found a lot of knowledge), this energy in motion that always leads me to a creative dynamic.
It was also in New York that my first large painting in Phi, sacred geometry, “Equilibre/Balance”, was exhibited in Flushing NY, then the second, then the third at the National Arts Club in Gramercy Park, Manhattan New York.
And it was again in New York, at the NAC, in my friend Janet Lippmann’s studio, which for over twenty years has also become a bit my own, that the fourth large painting, “Le Carré Magique” (Magic Square) was created, in 16 squares of 16.18cm, in “Magic square” of 34.
Only the latter, like its predecessors, has not yet been exhibited at the Chang Kai Shek Memorial in Taipei, Taiwan.
